You’re Invited:
Launch of a New Urban Biodiversity Hub

What is it?

We’re launching a new online hub of tools, training, and practical guidance to help people restore biodiversity right from their garden, local park, or nearby green corridor.

This platform brings together everything you need in one place to help make cities greener, cooler, and more alive:

  • ✓ Practical restoration tools
  • ✓ Step-by-step guidance
  • ✓ Training and learning resources
  • ✓ Real examples from working projects

Who is it for?

Community members & local groups

Gardeners, park groups, and residents—especially along the Braamfontein Spruit in Johannesburg—who want to take action and start restoring biodiversity locally.

Students & educators

Those in environmental science, landscape architecture, and related fields who want to engage with real-world, practical restoration work.

Professionals & practitioners

Landscape architects, planners, and ecological professionals looking for tools to streamline their work and connect with other local initiatives.

South Africans, Mexicans, Colombians, and anyone else interested

This website was made specifically for Johannesburg, South Africa, and we would like anyone else wanting the same thing for their city to work with us to make that happen. We have a strong focus on cities in the Global South. If you are interested, sign up for the launch and reach out afterwards so we can work together and make one for your city too.

Why join?

You’ll get early access to:

  • ✓ A growing library of practical tools and resources
  • ✓ Insights from collaborations in South Africa, Colombia and Mexico
  • ✓ Opportunities to connect with a wider network of practitioners and cities
