Our Work
We collaborate with local non-profits, community initiatives and city governments to kickstart a strategic greening process in the city - and to involve the community in this process. We analyse, plan, and train. We transfer the right knowledge to the right people so that our local partners can do this right from the start and get going much more quickly and with a high degree of rigor in their methodology.
Braamfontein Spruit Ecological Corridor
City: Johannesburg
Our team is currently actively supporting the local non-profit Jozi Trails in the planning, design, training and activation of this river-catchment corridor around the Braamfontein Spruit. Restoration efforts focus on Egoli Granite Grassland, the indigenous and critically endangered vegetation type of this part of Johannesburg.
Fynbos Corridor Collaboration
City: Cape Town
Our team co-led the development of the Fynbos Corridor Collaboration (as part of the non-profit Communitree), together with the The Greenpop Foundation and Ingcungcu Sunbird Restoration. Multiple corridors built around urban river systems are targeted, and a city-wide corridor strategy was developed for the city. Primary focus on two critically endangered vegetation types (nearly) endemic to the City of Cape Town: Cape Flats Sand Fynbos and Peninsula Shale Renosterveld.
